Caribou Cargo facilitates $2.2Million spares for HARS Caribous.

MILSPEC Services from Queensland, Australian Agent for FIELD Aviation of Canada, donate much needed spares to the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) based near Wollongong, NSW.

This Wednesday 19 June 2013 at 11am, MILSPEC Services will hand over $2.2Million of "NEW SURPLUS" spare parts to the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) at 99 Spencer Road, Carrara, Queensland.

The inventory was originally stockpiled to support the RAAF Caribou Fleet which was retired in 2009. Caribou Cargo Pty Ltd facilitated the donation of the spares to HARS in their continuing support to help keep the Caribou Flying for many years to come.

"When the Caribou aircraft retired from the RAAF, we contemplated what to do with our stock of now obsolete Caribou spares. We had two options, sell to an overseas operator or scrap them. But then we thought "No, let's donate them to HARS and assist in keeping an important part of Australian aviation history in the air". For many years the Caribou provided strong income for our business and it's now time for us to give something back. Steve Byrne "Director MILSPEC Services"

Upgraded Jobseeker Registration

We have upgraded our jobseeker login to cater for the new CASA Part 66 licensing system. Soon all current jobseekers on our database will receive an email allowing CASA LAME\'s to update their details to reflect their new license. We are also adding a jobseeker login function to allow you to update your personal details and upload a new CV. Should anyone have problems with the new system, please contact us.

CARIBOU ASSISTANCE

Caribou Cargo and PK Aviation donates a cash sum to assist HARS in road transportation costs to collect the DHC-4 Caribou spares packages and transport them to the HARS Hangar.

 

PK Aviation and Caribou Cargo also offers assistance to provide CASA B1 and B2 LAME with DHC-4 experience  for aircraft relocation.

Welcome to Matt

Paul and Karen are very happy to welcome to the team, Mr Matthew Arneson.  

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Business Administration and Associate Degree in Applied Science - Aircraft Maintenance.

Matt is also a rotary wing pilot and has moved to Australia from the USA and is settled in NSW with his Australian partner, Michelle.

CASA Part 66 takes effect today

Today, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia makes effective their new Part 66 AME Licensing System as detailed in the CASR.

Over next few weeks, PK Aviation will be updating its database to cater for the new License Codes.   Effective immediatly, all new jobs posted will reflect the new Part 66 License codes where applicable.

Moreover, individuals listed on our database will soon be receiving an email directing them to a link which will enable the database to be updated to reflect, where applicable, each individuals new Part 66 License Status.

Tailwheel Flying

PK Aviation is pleased to offer VH-JIR to Tailwheel Endorsed pilots for Dual Refresher/Currency flying.

Get back in-touch with your "Tailwheel Pilot" with the Chief Pilot of Flying Signs.   Paul Strike has over 1300Hrs tail wheel on Gliders, RAAus and GA.

We offer the following;

TAILWHEEL REFRESHER

If you have a tail wheel endorsement and have not flown a tail dragger for a while, get back in the seat safely.  

Paul will help you remember what those foot rests are for, no matter if you only want a few tips, concentrate on X-Wind landings or you wish to review the entire sylabus.

TAILWHEEL CURRENCY

If you have a tail wheel endorsement and feel as though you are "On top of it" but just cant find an aircraft to fly, Paul will accompany you while you fly to stay current.

DECATHLON CURIOSITY

Always wanted to fly a Decathlon?   Here is your chance.   You may have obtained your Tailwheel Endorsement on a Cub or Colt and want to feel out the Decathlon, come and give it a try.

NOTE - We do NOT offer Tail Wheel Training.   This offer is only open to pilots who already have a Tailwheel Endorsement.

If you desire a Tailwheel endorsement, we can refer you to any of 3 approved SEQLD training facilities who we know personally.

Flights available from our facility at Caboolture Airfield just north of Brisbane and at your location by appointment.

Cost is $299 / Tacho Hr + GST   Books Essential.
